1960年代、熊本県人吉市から「JOGQ」という呼出符号が電波に乗っていました。このサイトは、その放送局と、そこで働いた人々、聴いていた人々の記憶を残すための小さな歴史アーカイブです。
In the 1960s, the call sign JOGQ was heard from Hitoyoshi in Kumamoto Prefecture. This small historical archive is being built to preserve the station, the people who worked around it, and the memories of those who listened.

国際的な放送局名録には、1960年代の人吉に「JOGQ / NIPPON HOSO KYOKAI 1」が記録されています。一方で、局舎の写真、スタッフ、地域向け番組、日々の運用といった「人の記憶」は、まだ十分に見つかっていません。
International station directories record “JOGQ / NIPPON HOSO KYOKAI 1” at Hitoyoshi in the 1960s. What is much harder to find are the human details: photographs of the station, staff names, local programmes and memories of everyday broadcasting.

NHK熊本に保管されている資料を確認していただきました。NHK Kumamoto checked the documents held there.
2026年、JOGQ.COMは1960年代のJOGQに関する資料についてNHK熊本へ照会しました。NHK熊本からは、同局に保管されている資料を慎重に確認したものの、JOGQに関する情報は見つからなかったとの回答をいただきました。
In 2026, JOGQ.COM asked NHK Kumamoto about surviving material relating to JOGQ in the 1960s. NHK Kumamoto replied that, after carefully reviewing the documents stored there, it was unable to locate any information concerning JOGQ.
これは「JOGQの資料がどこにも残っていない」という意味ではありません。今回の回答で確認できるのは、NHK熊本に保管されている資料を調べた範囲です。個人所蔵の写真、録音、番組表、ベリカード、新聞記事などは引き続き探しています。
This does not establish that no JOGQ material survives elsewhere. The reply concerns the documents held at NHK Kumamoto. Photographs, recordings, schedules, QSL cards, newspaper material and private collections remain important avenues of research.

呼出符号が復活Call sign restored
1958年の一時廃止後、1961年4月1日にJOGQが再び使われたとする記録があります。Call-sign records indicate JOGQ returned on 1 April 1961 after a temporary withdrawal.

国際局名録には、人吉のNHKラジオ第1としてJOGQ、1240 kHz、1,000 Wと掲載されています。An international station directory lists JOGQ at Hitoyoshi as NHK Radio 1 on 1240 kHz with 1,000 watts.
呼号廃止Call sign withdrawn
11月1日、JOGQの呼出符号は廃止。これは「人吉からの放送がすべて消えた」という意味ではありません。The JOGQ call sign was withdrawn on 1 November. That does not mean radio service from Hitoyoshi simply vanished.
どこかの引き出しに、まだJOGQが眠っているかもしれません。
